Jo Cato is running for Nevada Assembly District 1 to deliver practical solutions for working families, small businesses, and the future of North Las Vegas.
She’s not a career politician. She’s a job creator, a community leader, and someone who understands firsthand what it takes to move forward.
Hard work should lead to stability. Jo supports policies that create fair, family-supporting wages, strengthen workforce pathways, and ensure people can build a future, not just get by.
Families deserve to live where they work and raise their children. Jo supports smart solutions that expand housing options and protect long-term stability.
“The African Chamber PAC proudly endorses Jo Cato for Nevada Assembly District 1. As a first-generation immigrant, Jo understands the challenges families face and the importance of expanding opportunity. She is committed to empowering diverse communities and supporting small businesses. We are confident she will lead with integrity and purpose.”

Jo Cato is a business leader, community advocate, and longtime North Las Vegas resident running for Nevada Assembly District 1.
A former member of IBEW Local 357, Jo rose from the trades to becoming a job creator, an experience that shaped her deep respect for the dignity of labor and the working people who power our communities.
While raising her family and caring for loved ones, Jo worked multiple jobs, including as a cabdriver, a housekeeper at a downtown Las Vegas hotel, and in telecommunications, where she advanced into leadership.
She pursued her education while balancing work and family, because she understands that opportunity should be earned, and accessible.
Jo later built her business from her kitchen table, growing it into a successful company. Today, she is President and CEO of The Periwinkle Group, a job creator, and a respected leader known for delivering results.
She is the mother of four and grandmother of two, and someone who understands the real pressures families face.

I know what it means to work hard and still wonder if it’s enough. I’ve lived it. I’ve worked multiple jobs, raised a family, and built something from the ground up. I’m running because I believe every person deserves a fair shot—to earn, to grow, and to build a future for their family. This campaign is about people. And I’m ready to go to work for District 1.
